Field Trip Shirts That Bring Your Class Together

Make a shirt your class can wear on the outing and keep afterward. Classroom Faces field trip shirts bring your students’ own drawings into a shared class design. Start with your trip date and your school’s color plan, then organize the artwork and sizes around those decisions.

Compare the look for your trip

These existing class designs show light blue, green and red shirt approaches. Use them to compare the overall look, then check current shirt availability and recommended inks.

Navy portraits on light blue: the drawings and class wording share one ink color.
Yellow student self-portraits on a green kindergarten class shirt
Yellow portraits on green: compare the contrast with your school’s chosen colors.

Set the handout date before the departure date

Write down when you want shirts in students’ hands, not just the day of the trip. Allow time for family responses, the drawing activity, inbound mailing, processing, proof review and outbound shipping. Check the current turnaround shown on this page and the seasonal processing guidance before announcing a collection deadline. Fall trips may overlap the busy mid-September-through-December period.

Decide how the classes will coordinate

  • One class: confirm the shirt color with the trip coordinator, then choose a recommended ink combination.
  • Several classes: classes may use different shirt-and-ink combinations. Keep each class’s artwork and quantities clearly identified; confirm the paperwork before combining orders.
  • More than one shirt color in a class: the ink must be the same across those shirts, and the FAQ calls for a separate form for each shirt color, stapled together. Read the color-mixing instructions.
  • Adults joining the trip: confirm any teacher or chaperone shirt sizes before finalizing the quantities.

A matching shirt gives the group a shared visual identity. Continue your school’s usual supervision, identification and headcount procedures.

Choose wording you can use again

Decide whether the shirt should name one destination or represent the class for the whole school year. A school name, teacher’s name and school year can work for later outings too. Confirm the wording with the coordinator and check it again on the proof.

Your trip packet checklist

  • Choose one template size and read the drawing directions before students begin.
  • Use an editable parent letter to collect sizes and explain your school-approved response date. Keep family responses private.
  • Count the original drawings, reconcile shirt quantities and review the cost before collecting payment.
  • Follow the chosen form’s packing and payment instructions, keep a copy and your tracking number, and leave time for an adult to review the proof.

Ordering resources for this project

For quantities and product requirements, review pricing and the complete FAQs. Read the instructions on the order forms page before selecting either the PDF or Excel form. Students create the artwork on paper; an adult mails the original drawings and completed packet, then reviews the layout proof before printing.
